Today we didn’t head back to the dock until each person on the boat caught at least 40 fish.  Including my 40 or so, that’s a total of at least 200 with a crew of 5, counting me.  The striper bite was about as pretty as I’ve seen it in a long time.  The sheer number of fish is what’s amazing to me, and they are scattered everywhere.  We caught fish with consistency everywhere we stopped.  Yes, the size could be a little better, but there are plenty of nice keeper sized fish in the mix.  I bet we had 20-30 fish today that were 18-21″, which is not a bad day anywhere you go.  Most of the fish are in the 16-17″ class and they are fat healthy fish.  They look like little juiced up footballs, and they are so much fun to catch on the light tackle that we use.  For these fish, I’m using primarily TFO Tactical (inshore) and Signature Series light or med-light action spinners with 1500-2500 reels.  There is no better rod for the money in my opinion.  They are super sensitive and perfectly balanced. If you want sheer action and constant pullage all day, they you need to give me a call and book a trip sooner than later.

Upcoming open dates:  Dec. 31, Jan. 1, 6-10, 13, 15-17
