I had my wife, Austin, and soon-to-be 3 year-old son, Tripp, out on the boat with me this afternoon. The fishing gods were definitely helping me out this afternoon. We made a quick swipe through an area I like to fish and Tripp hooked and caught his first ever red drum, about at 24 inch fish. Then a few minutes later, I saw 3 fish off the bow and Tripp (with a little help casting from his daddy) casted to one and hooked him and Austin (all on her own and who I might add is an excellent angler) casted to one of the other fish and hooked him. Austin and Tripp had a double header on that were hooked sight casting. Austin’s fish was just over the 27 inch mark and Tripp caught his second red ever. I’m a proud daddy and husband. Unbelievable!
