Fall Pamlico Light Tackle Fishing

I am looking forward to a great fall light tackle season on the Pamlico.  Our 2017 drum season is basically over with this blow from Hurricane Maria.  We’ll be back on the water this Friday after the wind subsides for some light tackle fishing.  The striper fishing should be off the charts and we’ll also have one our best speckled trout fall seasons in the past few years.  There are also enough slot drum in the river to add a nice variety into a typical day’s catch.  I don’t have any openings until November, but November is a great time to catch stripers, trout, and reds.

Here are my Nov. openings for the first three weeks:  Nov. 6-9, 11, 13-17, 20-22, 25   Let’s go fishing!

Here are some pictures from yesterday’s trip with John, Ann Elise, and John Jr.  John Jr. is a very enthusiastic and budding angler who is obsessed with fishing.  He caught his biggest fish ever yesterday and learned how to topwater fish for stripers by properly walking a spook and twitching a chug bug.  He caught fish and learned a lot…….a great day in my book.
