Look what we caught on topwater………..Just kidding.  The stripers have showed up on the Pamlico River following the influx of bait.  Lots of bait, lots of bird activity, lots of keeper and plus sized stripers.  We’ve been fishing stumpy shorelines and finding scattered fish on topwater hard baits and soft plastics.  Matt, Shawn, and Andrew had a bunch of fun fishing the Pamlico in the Washington area.  These guys were all veteran skydivers, so they were pretty tough and not vane enough for the camera. The only picture I got was of this doe swimming way out in the middle of the river.  She was trucking along at a pretty good pace, so I’m sure she made it.  Opening day of deer season and all the hounds in the woods made her decide to relocate.  Pretty cool.  Give me a call if you like catching quality sized striped bass on topwater. The fishing should stay pretty good throughout the fall as temperatures cool.
