Sorry for the lack of posts lately.  I’ve been on vacation with my family in Nags Head this week.  I’ll be back fishing at the beginning of next week.  I did shoot home and fish last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Thursday’s trip was a little slower than we would have  liked.  The SW wind had lowered the water level and the fishing along the shorelines wasn’t as productive as it could have been with higher water.  Also, the wind was howling, which makes the water stirred up in most places, which make flounder fishing tougher.  On Friday and Saturday, we had better conditions and ended up with some nice keepers and plenty of undersized fish.  We also caught specs, stripers, and puppy drum to go with the flounder.  On Saturday, our biggest flounder was 21.5 inches and many of our keepers were 19+ inches.  That’s some great fishing.

Next open dates for summer mixed bag fishing:  July 7, 11, 13, 15, 21, 25, 26
