Fishing today was about as good as I’ve seen it in a while.  We went striper fishing early in the morning, taking advantage of the clouds and the extended topwater bite and then got on a good trout bite later in the morning.  We ended up with around 20 stripers and about 25 spec for the day.  Most of the trout were smaller but it was fun to catch them on Mirrolures.  The topwater striper fishing continues to be outstanding with our largest fish today pushing a girthy 10 pounds and 26 inches.  That fish was ripping drag and forced me to chase it down with the trolling motor……….what fun!  We had one fish follow the topwater bait about 30 yards all the way to the boat while swiping at it and obviously missing it the whole way.  That was really awesome!
