I apologize for the lack of fishing reports lately.  I’ve been on vacation in Nags Head with my family.  I did have to come back to work on a new episode for Carolina Outdoor Journal.  We filmed a Pamlico Sound summer mixed bag show, catching some speckled trout and flounder.  We had some challenging, windy conditions, but we worked hard and made the best of it and got what we needed for a good show that will be airing this coming fall with the new 2017 Season.  I ventured out this morning to check on the striper bite.  It’s still plenty good.  We had some nice morning topwater action and I caught quite a few on the fly rod.  My new Sage X 6 weight is the best rod I’ve ever owned or thrown, and it’s a great fit for our fishing here.  I was using Rio’s Streamertip S6 sinking tip line with a CK Baitfish.  They couldn’t stand it.

My trips start back tomorrow. I have Thursday (July 20) still open and July 28, 31 as well.  Let’s go fishing!

Here are some flounder about to hit the chopping block and a striper I caught this morning on the fly.
