Looking ahead to the winter, I want everyone to be aware of our amazing winter striper fishery on the lower Roanoke River and western Albemarle Sound. While every day is not necessarily red hot, we do have triple digit days quite often. If casting artificial baits on light spinning tackle or tossing a 8 weight fly rod with heavy sinking line and a clouser minnow to 16-25″ stripers turns you on, then you need to check out this fishery. When it is at its best, it will blow your mind. These are the same fish that travel to Weldon in April and May.
