In case some of you didn’t know, I’ve launched a new venture for the late fall and early winter.  We’ll be offering open water sea duck and diver hunting trips in our newly rigged out 22′ Beaver Boat.  We utilize a “Scissor Rig”, which is a unique open water blind system developed in the Currituck Sound decades ago.  It’s deadly on the ducks. Our operation is called Inner Banks Waterfowl.  You can check out the operation at www.innerbankswaterfowl.com.

Open water duck hunting is not for sissies.  It’s very different from hunting in an impoundment or a marsh blind.  We are out in the elements in open water in the winter where these birds live.  I love it and prefer to hunt this way.  Last year was my first year offering guided sea duck hunts, so we took it slow to get our feet wet.  There wasn’t too much trial-and-error involved.  We got on the meat early and stayed on them most of the season.  We had a great season with a high percentage of successful hunts and happy hunters.

The dates have officially been announced.  The season is Nov. 21 – Jan. 28.  Same limit applies to scoters.  4 birds/person/day.  It’s gonna be a great season.

Get your dates before they are gone.  Book now to reserve your dates for next season.
