The Dunston clan had a great day catching some quality fish on topwater in the early morning hours.  The striper bite continues to be excellent with some really nice fish in the mix. More flounder and small puppy drum are showing up each day as the water warms.  Water temperatures have been hovering in the mid-70’s for most of the month with the mild weather and frequent NE blows.  I like it, but I think things are about to get hot and summer has arrived…………along with it some great summer fishing on the Pamlico.  The trout bite has been consistent downriver from the Bath area to the mouth of the river with many small fish and a few keepers mixed in.  I haven’t been trout fishing much, as it’s been difficult to leave these hungry and aggressive stripers.
