Due to some windier conditions that expected on the Pamlico the last few days, we’ve been exploring the lower Roanoke for some post-spawn striper action. We’ve found excellent numbers of fish the last two days with 50-100 fish catches. In years past, I’ve turned my attention exclusively to the mixed bag fishing on the Pamlico after our Weldon season concludes in the middle of May; however, I think this year and in the future, I’ll try my best to keep up with those fish for a little longer each spring. The fishing is just so good, and there’s nobody on the water except for a few bass and bream fishermen. The post spawn bite usually lasts through June, so if you didn’t get a chance to get after them this winter or in Weldon in April and May, now’s your chance. Here are a few pictures from the past couple of days.
