Some Shadness for the Young Anglers

Yesterday, we decided to take advantage of the Sunday afternoon weather, so we launched the Hickory Nut on the Tar River for some shad fishing.  I took my son Tripp, his best friend Christopher, and his dad and my friend, Brandon.  We had a great time in our shorts and bare feet enjoying some 82 degree weather in February.  Shad fishing is so much for adults and children.  If you have a child who enjoys fishing, spring shad fishing is an excellent way to introduce them to fishing in our coastal rivers.  Yank them out of school one day so them can experience the ultimate outdoor classroom.  Here are a few picture from our outing:
