Spectacular Giant Red Drum Fishing in the Pamlico Sound

Dempsey and Bill had a spectacular afternoon and evening catching giant red drum in the Pamlico Sound.  The fish were up in the shallows hanging around some gigantic schools of large menhaden. Pelicans were diving and bait was pushing around everywhere.  After the smoke cleared, I had 2 tired anglers with some sore arms from cranking in these bruisers.  We caught quite a few really nice ones. Our first bite was a double header and Dempsey and Bill were dancing around the boat like “ballerinas” trying to stay untangled.  It was like watching poetry in motion.  I was surprised at such a graceful display out of 2 grown men.  Pretty work fellas!
