Here are a few pictures from last week’s trips on the Pamlico/Pungo Rivers and from the sound around Roanoke Island. We ran trips in both locations last week but have turned our attention full time to the Manteo area for the rest of the summer. The trout bite has been good as well as a few drum mixed in. We found the motherload of drum (big slot and over slot fish) but couldn’t get them to bite. We’ll get on them again when they are more willing to cooperate and someone will have an experience of a lifetime. We have lots to look forward to in the coming weeks. The trout bite should remain pretty steady. For now, I am enjoying a few days off with the family while Tropical Storm Andrea passes. Hopefully we’ll have some pretty weather on the back side of this storm once the wind settles out.
