This past week, we’ve still been enjoying lots of fun catching lots of smaller fish.  We’re still catching the small trout, small reds, and getting some white perch for the cooler.  One of the highlights of the week was having 8 year old Jack catch his first every redfish and white perch.  He said to his daddy that “This is the best day of my life”.  Now that makes me feel good.

This message from Gus about our trip last week also makes me feel good:

“Just wanted to write a quick note of thanks for the trip yesterday. Being new to the area, the VAST amount of water here is pretty overwhelming, especially for a guy that can only get out once every week or so. The reports you post on your website, combined with the seminars you put on for the public led me to reach out to you for a little help, and you came through in a huge way.

I really enjoyed the trip and it was everything I was hoping for. Even with tough conditions (20 kt winds out of the west), you were able to not only put me on fish, but more importantly help me to understand why they were there. I take my children fishing almost every weekend, and the advice and knowledge you provided will serve me well for a long time.

I will certainly recommend you to anyone who is looking for a great day on the water or who, like me, is looking for a hands-on education. You are both extremely knowledgeable and just a great guy to fish with. I look forward to doing this again sometime after the next seasonal transition. ”
