We are still wearing them out.  The fishing has been very very good to say the least.  The highlight of last week was one 300 fish afternoon trip…….3 anglers standing on the back of the boat bailing rockfish for 5 hours.  My hands still hurt.  The jig bite fired off as well.  We also have had some good fly flurries, even with the high water, and some early morning and late afternoon topwater action.  The water is currently running at about 15k, and although I haven’t heard the latest end of the week projection, I suspect it will be coming down to 8-10k by next weekend, which should send the fly bite into the stratosphere.  The fish have yet to spawn, as water temps are hovering in the 63-65 degree range, but it won’t be long if it bumps up a few degrees.  I’m looking forward to another great week with friends new and old.

Next openings for the mixed bag fishing on the Pamlico or even a wade fishing trip to Lake Phelps for sightfishing largemouth bass:  May 31, June1, 4-6, 11-12, 14, 19-21
