Last week was my second week of the spring striper season in Weldon.  I had so much fun enjoying the good fishing with new and old friends and clients.  It really is a special time of year with all the green leaves, cool mornings, warm afternoons, birds chirping in the hardwood canopy, and lots of bent poles on hungry stripers.  We are all booked up for the season, but still have the afternoon of Friday, May 18 open.  It’s usually a really good date with lots of fish still in the river and most everyone gone.

I also am looking forward to our late spring/early summer mixed bag fishing on the Pamlico.  There are still quite a few speckled trout around after last winter’s cold.  I’m hoping plenty of puppy drum show up as usual in the summer.  During late May and June of last year, we experienced some outstanding topwater striper fishing .  There are already some flounder around, and we expect them to be thick by June.  Here are some open dates during that time:

May 22, 23  June 4-6, 8, 11-15, 19-21, 25-30  Give me a shout and we’ll get you fishing!
