David and his 2 sons, Will and Andrew, who came topwater striper fishing on the Pamlico River during the pre-spawn last March and wanted to try their luck on the big reds.  We had an excellent day of giant red drum fishing along with some exciting topwater light tackle action on the bluefish.  We started the day catching bluefish on topwater under some birds while we were waiting for an approaching storm.  We went back to the Marina and waited for the storm to pass and went back out to catch a handful and a half of some giant red drum.  We spent the last hour of the trip catching more bluefish, as Andrew and Will are good casters and really seemed to enjoy the light tackle fishing.  Lots and lots of fun and excitement and a great variety to the day!
