I don’t know what all this cold weather fussing is about. Riley and the boys had fun, and so did I……in these balmy conditions. Winter fishing takes a certain mindset. You have to be ready to work for your catch. That’s what fishing is all about. With just a peep of sunshine and some balmy air temps around 37, a good 20 knot Northeast wind, and 37.5 degree water temps, we still caught 50 or so. How can you beat that for February fishing? A man once told me one time that there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes. He was right to some degree……..no pun. Cold is just a state of mind if you are geared appropriately. There’s plenty of fish around. We’re catching them now, and when the water temps slowly start to climb over the next week or two, the fishing will only get better.
