Bass on Two Fronts

Today we caught the bass with the large mouths and LOTS of pumkinseed bream on popping bugs at Lake Phelps. No real big bass today. The morning was beautiful until the storms rolled in and closed out our wading session at about 2. We got what we needed.

Yesterday, I had the privledge of guiding Mike, who served our country in Vietnam. We caught the kind of bass with stripes. We should all be thankful of anyone who dutifully serves in this country’s armed services. Mike really enjoyed the experience. We caught lots and lots of stripers of all sizes on top and under the surface. We also did pretty well on white perch, crappie, and bluegill in the creeks. Along with all the fish, we saw more cottonmouths than I’ve ever seen in one area. Good place to fish…..not so good place for swimming.
