Another big fish day on topwater.  We had a good flurry first thing in the morning with some awesome bites on the plugs.  This one inhaled a plug.  When the bigger fish eat, they usually don’t miss.  They come up under the bait like a tarpon and kinda suck the bait down and the bait just disappears into a big hole in the water.  The topwater bite was over when the sun got high in the sky, so we headed downriver in search of some trout and found them, thanks to the generosity of a fellow fisherman, who just so happens to be an excellent trout fisherman.  Thanks Mike.  We ended our day having some action on small specs and heading back up the river against a stiff 25 knot Norwester.
