Had Nathan Edwards and Greg Griffin on the boat with me today and boy did we have some fun. Nathan is an avid and accomplished angler who fishes all over North Carolina and beyond. We both share a passion for fishing our rivers for stripers and shad, and I can’t wait to do some white shad fishing with him on the Tar later this winter. Greg is a live bait bass guide from the higher ground of Shearon Harris Lake and brings his business to Weldon each spring to enjoy the bounty of the Roanoke River. He is the slip cork, live bait masterbaiter in Weldon and proved his angling prowess today tossing soft plastics to hungry stripers in the low grounds. Greg was able to do some pre-Weldon reconnaissance today, checking out the healthy numbers of stripers that will be making the journey up the highway of love in 2-3 months. Nathan really enjoys catching Roanoke stripers, and that’s exactly what he did today. He and Greg and I enjoyed some really really good fishing and good times on the river. We caught them just about everywhere we stopped. What a fishery……..the best in NC! Come get some.
