The spring striper bite in Weldon is off to a quick start this April. The Kents from Tarboro had an excellent trip this afternoon. Thunderstorms ran us off the river a little early, but we caught about 60-70 in short order, conservatively. We were on pace to easily reach the triple digit mark for the 5 hour 1/2 day. Many of them were on topwater. The bite is hot. I still have May 6(am) and May 10(am) open. Let’s catch some stripers.
