I ran a few light tackle trips over the last few days on the Pamlico and Pungo Rivers and we caught all four of the targeted light tackle species. Those include striped bass, specs, puppy drum, and flounder…………..with the most consistent fishing being the topwater striper fishing, which is what we were mostly targeting. Looks like the fall is shaping up to be an excellent fishing season. Keeper season on the stripers comes in on Oct. 1st and that bite should be getting better and better as water temps in the river cool. I will be offering fall light tackle trips out of Washington and out of North Creek. On the Washington trips, we will be targeting mostly stripers around town. When fishing the lower Pamlico and Pungo out of North Creek, we will be targeting mostly speckled trout with an occassional puppy drum and flounder, depending on how well they stick around this fall.
We are looking forward to a great fall fishing season. Many opportunities for memorable fishing experiences are right at your fingertips, so give us a call and book a fall fishing adventure. We will guarantee fun!
