I fished the lower Roanoke area yesterday with Paige and 2 aspiring 15 year old anglers. What a nice mother to take these boys on a fishing trip. We had a load of fun. The river was very foggy in the morning but it cleared nicely at about 10:30. Despite overcast conditions, the temperature remained pleasant and the boys caught their first stripers ever. After not really knowing how to cast a spinning rod at the beginning of the trip, they were tossing their Z-Man MinnnowZ paddletail baits with great distance by the end of the day. They looked like regular old bass pros. These winter trips are great for the experienced and beginner angler! Get out on the water and cut your teeth on some stripers.
