Non-Stop Roanoke River Action

I bet John and Matt caught 120 fish today………..about 40 stripers and the rest were white perch. John lives in Missouri, and had never caught a striper until today. Matt is an ornithologist who could listen to each bird’s song and identify it with ease and precision. Pretty cool!

The fishing is as good as it can get if you just want pure action. The shad bite is really good on the Tar and on the Roanoke in Weldon and we are doing great on the other species on the lower end. Spring fishing is just getting going. We only have a few dates left for the spring striper spawning season in Weldon. Personally, my favorite time to be on the river in the spring is during the first and second week of May.
