I want to thank Gary Hurley and Mark Johnson for hanging in there this past weekend during the Oriental Tarpon Tournament. We decided to stick to home waters and fish a smaller concentration of fish up in the Pamlico River. These fish have been around for a couple of weeks and have been fairly predictable; however, they have mostly been reluctant to feed, even with the freshest bait and all the tricks. Probably should have ventured out into the cleaner water of the Sound, but hindsight is 20/20 and that’s fishing. We put forth a great effort, but persistance will pay off and I’m sure we’ll have another encounter soon. Congrats to the winners!
