Howard and Jackson Tucker had lots of action on a beautiful 4th of July morning.  We caught plenty of flounder and puppy drum, and we caught a handful of specs and stripers.  The stripers were very nice fish, but we couldn’t keep any due to the season being out.  We did end up with a couple of keeper flounder and specs.  All the puppy drum were in the 10-14″ range, which seems to be the case all over the Pamlico and Neuse Rivers this year.  That’s a great sign for next season.  These boys got a great intro to live baiting on the river, and I think they were sold on it by the number of bites we got.  Just wish we had a few more bigger fish for the cooler.
