Went out on a little Sunday afternoon venture with two of my buddies, Seth Laughlin and Andy Hill, and we had steady fishing for keeper trout and stripers in the relatively short period of time we were there.  We were using Z-Man soft plastics in the 3″ MinnowZ  (White and Chartreuse) with 3/8 and even 1/2 ounce jigheads.  The current was ripping.  We took quite a few pictures but I can’t post the rest of them, as the background would be giving away a bit too much information for those internet fishermen, but lets just say we were close to town and it was darn good to see some speckled trout around Washington for a change.  Today was a little more characteristic of a winter afternoon with a moderate NW wind whipping down the river, but it sure felt good to have some bent poles.  Call me if you want to squeeze in a holiday charter before my winter striper season gets going on the Roanoke.  A charter would make a great Christmas gift for those avid anglers in your family.  The Pamlico fishing has been good for a while and you need to get it while it’s good.
