Fished today with my trusty old fishing buddy Matt Carr and Wes Sumner from Coastal Angler Magazine, and we caught about 25. Wes accomplished the equivalent of killing a banded duck by catching a tagged striper. The fish was 21″ in length and believed to have been tagged last year in Weldon. The biologist at the ramp told me that the tagged fish was probably 4 years old. We let him go so that someone might retrieve the tag again as the fish grows. Conditions were favorable with water temperatures around 55. Temperatures will be in the low 80’s, so we should have a beautiful weekend with plenty of fish.
