David, Will, and Andrew are longtime veterans on my boat. They’ve done everything from topwater striper fishing in Washington to giant red drum fishing on the Neuse. They decided to join me today to chase down some of these slot drum that have been so consistent on the Outer Banks. They weren’t so consistent for us today…….The speckled trout saved the day. We looked and looked and looked this morning for my pet drum and the wind shift we had last night was just enough to scatter the good fishing we had yesterday. We did manage 2 out of 3 before turning our attention to the specs. They bit nicely and we caught about 20-25 in an hour and a half of fishing and were able to keep 7. Pretty fishing.
