We’ve been catching stripers and ducking into the creeks for some nice crappie on these warmer days. The shad bite is starting to fire off on the Neuse, and it won’t be too much longer before it’s in full swing on the Tar and Roanoke. Get in touch with me for our special “Double Header” shad trip. This is a truly unique trip where we fish both the Tar River for American (white) Shad and the Roanoke River for Hickory Shad in the same day. The two fishing grounds are only 45 minutes apart. Choose a 3/4 day on one river for $500 or for only $150 more, choose the Full Day “Double Header” trip, the only charter trip of its kind offered in Eastern NC. We can use fly or ultralight spinning gear.

Come fishing for both of our native shad species in the same day on two different rivers………..a truly unique fishing experience! Both fly and conventional gear are equally effective.
On this trip, we go American Shad Fishing on the Tar River and Hickory Shad Fishing on the Roanoke River in the same day. We begin our morning at 8 a.m. at Battle Park in Rocky Mount and end our day at 4 p.m. in Weldon. We grab lunch while we’re jumping between rivers.

On this trip, we visit the river of your choice, targeting American shad on the Tar or Hickory Shad on the Roanoke. On the Tar, we might encounter some Hickories, too. This is a 6 hour trip beginning at 9 a.m.
