Topwater Giant Red Drum in the Pamlico

Jason, Brayden, and Bob set out with me this morning on a giant red drum hunt. I’d like to think that our early success was due to my vast knowledge of how and where these fish like to move and feed; however, I know it was just plain dumb luck that we stumbled upon several schools up on top chasing bait. They were cutting through and busting bait like tunas offshore. It was a pretty site to see their whole bodies out of the water feeding. We were able to head them off and get some bites on topwater baits and popping corks. It sure was a load of fun! Check out Braden’s full grown one on topwater. Just goes to show it’s always better to be lucky than good.
