Tar-Pam Guide Service offers fishing charters on the Roanoke River out of   Weldon, NC from April through May. After fishing for winter stripers near the mouth in the Roanoke in Plymouth, NC, we follow the annual migration of stripers up the river to their spawning grounds in Weldon.  Weldon, NC on the Roanoke River is known for world class striper fishing.  This fishery has so much to offer………..from live bait to subsurface and topwater artificials on conventional tackle to subsurface and topwater fly fishing………….you can do a little of everything.  April is keeper season and end of April 30th for those who enjoy taking their limit home for the fryer.  May is catch and release only and is known for excellent topwater and fly fishing.  The spring spawning run of stripers on the Roanoke River is one of the best, if not the best, light tackle striper fisheries on the Eastern Seaboard.

5 Hour Morning or Afternoon: $650

We offer a 5 hour morning or afternoon trips.  For morning trips, we begin at the boat ramp at 6:30 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m.  For afternoon trips, we begin at the boat ramp at 1:30 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. The rate is $600 for the boat for the day.  This is not a per person rate. (Max 3 anglers for conventional and max 2 anglers for fly)

Tipping: Tips are not required but if you feel the captain has worked hard to provide you a memorable and enjoyable experience, it is customary to tip your captain 15-20%.

Deposit Policy: To confirm bookings, a $250 deposit is required within 7 days of booking the trip. Deposits are non-refundable (except weather cancellations left solely to the discretion of the Capt. NOT THE CLIENT) but can be used as a credit for a rescheduled trip if canceled greater than 21 days before the trip. If the trip is cancelled less than 21 days before the trip, the deposit will be forfeited) In case of cancellations due to inclement weather, all efforts will be made to reschedule the trip and if that’s not a possibility, the deposit will be refunded.

What We Provide for Your Trip: All tackle, equipment, and baits for fishing are provided.  We have ample cooler space with ice for your drinks and snacks as well as separate cooler space with ice for your fish.

Fishing License:   You will need to purchase an INLAND FISHING LICENSE.  The easiest way to purchase a license is to use the NC Wildlife Resource Commission’s online licensing system by clicking HERE or you can call 1-800-662-7137.

What You Need To Bring:    All that you need to bring is your food and drink for the day, sun protection (sunglasses, hat, sunscreen), and appropriate clothing. A light rain jacket is recommended as well as a camera for some great fishing pictures.  If you are booked during the keeper season (before April 30) and you plan on keeping your limit of stripers, please bring a cooler with ice to take your fish home.
