Weldon Wrapup!

Although there are still plenty of fish (and I mean plenty), we’re pretty much wrapping it up in Weldon for the 2014 season. Thanks to everyone who came this year. It was one of the best seasons in the last decade for pure numbers. I figured it would be good after the amazing winter season we had on the lower end. World class light tackle and fly fishing! We also caught lots of bigger fish later in the season in May.

For those who come every year and also those who want to try it for the first time, remember to book early to get the date you want for next season. It’s first come, first serve, and the early bookers get the more prime dates and their preference of either keeper season in April or May catch and release fishing with jigs or fly. I anticipate being up there again roughly from mid-April to mid-May. Same rate as this year: $500 for 5 hours, morning or afternoon. I can take up to 4 anglers comfortably. There are a few cheaper boats/guides up there during the season but remember that you get what you pay for. Mostly all of the full-time dedicated fishing guides are about the same price.

One of the best lines I heard all season was from a young angler on my last trip of the season. He turned to his dad and said, “Daddy, after this trip, I’m gonna be really disappointed fishing with you at the beach this summer!” That got me pretty tickled.

I’m going back up there this coming Monday for a couple of trips. I have NEXT TUESDAY MORNING OPEN AT WELDON for fly or artificial fishing. Should be epic!

Here are some pictures from this past week. Enjoy!
