Last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we had some spectacular fishing, catching around 100 fish/day. On Thursday, conditions changed slightly and the bite slowed a bit. We ended up with around 30-40. Conditions kept deteriorating on Friday, and we caught around 20-25. I went up to the Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series in Cary on Saturday, which worked out well because it was raining most of the day. George Poveromo did a great job and put together a first rate seminar. I participated in the flounder, trophy red drum, and river striper seminars, and met some great people. Today, we were back at it on the Roanoke and caught around 80-90. Keith, Tim, and Ed had some really nice fish today…..probably more big fish than we’ve seen this season, and a few on the fly, too. We also had 2 tagged fish. Great fishing is an understatement. Only with this fishery can you complain about the fishing being “off” and still have a 20-30 fish day. Wow!
