We started out the day at about 9:30 and immediately began marking big schools of fish on the depth sounder. The water temperature had dropped about 3-4 degrees from the end of last week, which made the fish a bit more lethargic. We only caught 6 fish before noon, and as soon as the sun came out, the fish began to turn on. The best of it lasted only about 2 hours in the middle of day.
Most of the fish were in the 18-22″ class, with the biggest being 26″. We ended up releasing about 75 of these rock – a spectacular day of fishing any time of the year, much less for Jan. 24th. If you have a case of cabin fever and are ready to do some quality winter fishing, give me call to book a trip!
