That’s exactly what happened today. After deciding not to go shad fishing due to high and murky water in the rivers, I decided to explore some areas on the Pamlico. I stumbled upon a pretty decent bite with a promising future during these upcoming pretty days…………trout, pups, and a few stripers. The trout just weren’t biting very well but they were there. Lots of active bait, which is a great sign for this time of year. I even caught a chain pickerel on a Mirrolure. We don’t encounter them very often and it is a pleasure to catch them when we do.
