Tony and Frank and their 95 year-old grandfather fished with me today. At first glance, I thought the man was in his early 80’s……….but oh no, a youthful 95 years young. He’s definitely the eldest angler I’ve ever guided. He’s a World War II veteran and part of America’s “Greatest Generation” and still catching stripers. He sat on my cooler in front of my console all day and fished hard only taking an occasional break. Unbelievable. I hope I have that much stamina at that age. Wait……..I hope I just live that long. We beat out around 40 fish today and had to work for them. We never really got into a good rhythm and found a big bunch. We caught a handful everywhere we found them, and it added up to a good catch at the end of the trip. Beautiful weather and beautiful fishing. I love it!
