We’ve been having a ton of fun the last couple of days enjoying this really pretty weather. The fishing has been really good overall. The flounder bite has been slow due to the extremely high water. I think once the water gets back down and clears up a bit, we’ll see some good flatfish action over the next couple of weeks. The big bite has been on the small specs. We’ve been killing them. They seem to be everywhere and in big schools when you find them. We’ve tagged nearly 150 specs in the last 2 days. I personally don’t care how big they are. I definitely like to eat them, but I enjoy catching them, even when they are under 14″. When you catch them every cast and with different baits and techniques, it makes for a very fun day of fishing. Yesterday, along with our specs, we caught bluefish, grey trout, puppy drum (redfish), and flounder.
