Tar River March Striper Fishing

Due to the extremely low flows and water levels in the Roanoke from the lack of rain this winter and subsequently tough striper fishing on the lower Roanoke (by Roanoke standards), we’ve moved our base of operations home to the Tar-Pamlico River this month until we go back up to the Roanoke for the spring spawning season in Weldon. We’ll be offering Weldon trips from April 13 through May 13 this year.

Here are my remaining open dates for Weldon striper fishing. I offer a 5 hour charter in the morning starting at 6:30 a.m. and in the afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m.

Open dates for Weldon: April 25(pm), May 1(pm), 2, 3(pm), 9 ,10, 11(am), 12(pm)

Get em while they’re open. May is my absolute favorite time of the spring season and has the best fishing Weldon offers…………….topwater, artificials, you name it.

The striper bite on the Tar-Pam has been steady. Ben, Jay, and Forrest caught some nice fish today and enjoyed a beautiful day after the weather passed earlier this morning. We are looking forward to some good striper fishing on the Tar-Pam this month as well as some spectacular shad fishing further upriver on the Tar and on the Roanoke in Weldon.
