Tim and Rich had a great time exploring the lower reaches of the Tar River today. Tim managed to catch his first ever striped bass…………a 27.5″ beauty. We also caught about a 40″ flathead catfish on an artificial bait, which will likely to be turned into fried catfish bites in the very near future. Those flatheads have invaded the Tar River and become quite numerous and large from feeding on all the native fish. Judging from the size of that fish’s mouth, it could easily eat just about anything it wants; however, this one ate its last meal today.
