Getting ready for the Speckled Trout Winter Full Moon Bite

Speckled trout become a whole lot more active around the full moons in the wintertime, so we’re gonna try to capitalize on the February full moon coming up early next week. I haven’t been doing much speckled trout fishing since the holidays because I just haven’t had the time with the good striper fishing we’ve had this year on the Pamlico and now on the Roanoke; however, I will be venturing out with my good buddy on Monday to try to get on some specs. We will be targeting big trout, but will take just about anything we encounter. Hopefully we will catch one or two that can eat the one shown below. I just bought one of new Yozuri 3D Shrimp (3.5″, the large size), and I’m hoping a gator sucks it down. Stay tuned for an update!

In the meantime………we’re heading up the Roanoke tomorrow and throughout the weekend where the striper fishing has been fantastic!
