I squeezed in a little trout fishing on my day off from striper fishing in Weldon. We’ll be back up there tomorrow. It seems that in some places on the Pamlico River, we can pretty much walk on the trout because there are so many of them. We caught at least 30 fish in a short amount of time with very little effort and some were very nice. If you want to come catch speckled trout and other species such as flounder, redfish, and stripers from mid-May on (after I get back from the Roanoke), should be some excellent light tackle fishing. I can also get you on the water between now and then with several quality guides in this area. Once we can keep and weigh fish after June 15, we will probably see more citation speckled trout (5 pounds and up) this year than in several previous years. We can’t keep em but we can sure catch em and have a whole lot of fun doing it.
Here are a few open dates during that time frame. We offer 1/2 Day, 3/4 Day, and Full Day Trips.
