Bill Ross and Dempsey Benton, who formerly served our state as Secretary and Asst. Secretary of DENR, fished with me once again today. These gentlemen must have lived their lives right because their luck is unbelievable. We seem to have a banner trip every time they come. We caught and released plenty of giant reds and Dempsey tapped me on the shoulder as I was changing a bait trying to catch them more fish and said, “We’ve caught plenty and are ready to get back in time to throw a steak on the grill.” I got a kick out of that. The drum bite has been good, so come on out for some arm bending excitement on some big fish!
