Pamlico River Fishing Report: Improved topwater striper fishing from yesterday

Mike, Tony, and Ray had some excellent fishing for stripers today on the Pamlico River near Washington. We started out the morning fishing topwater baits and had some great action with some 20-24 inch fish as well as plenty of 17-18 inchers. Mike is from the swamps of South Georgia and he made me well aware that Gar are a fine meal, so Mike and Tony finished up the day meatfishing with some live baits and caught a few gar for the cooler and the grill. We also caught a few more stripers on live bait. Ray supervised while getting his drink on. Pretty exciting and pretty eatin!
