Post Spawn Topwater Striper Bite is on in the Pamlico River

Caught one just shy of 27″ on my third cast on topwater. Caught another that was an inch bigger and several more in the low 20’s……….all on topwater. After a little lull during the peak of the spawn it seems that many of the fish that went upriver have returned. I hope it stays steady and fish don’t spread out too much downriver. Give me a call to get in on some of this action in the next few weeks. We will be after them hard and throwing topwater baits whenever the conditions are right. I have a new 8 weight fly rod that I’m dying to break in on one of these fish crashing a fly popper.
