Here are some pics from our recent shad trips in Weldon. We’ve been doing very well with the shad over the last week or so. Lots of wind…..but lots of fish. It was really too windy to fly fish yesterday. The wind subsided, so I whipped out the 4 weight and on about my 3rd cast, I caught a double. We’ll be starting our spring striper season in Weldon this coming Wednesday. There are some fish already there, and we are looking for many more to come through this month and next. I still have a few openings in early May. This is prime time and personally my favorite time to fish up there.
