The D’Alton Boys (No, they are not outlaw cowboys, like their name sounds; just a father a son duo from Petersburg, VA) posted some pretty numbers today. Their professional technique of holding the pole in the right hand while doing 12 ounce curls on a Miller Light can with the left hand was both flawless and effective. I did sense a small father/son rivalry as to who caught the most and biggest fish of the day. I think we can call it even. Between fish, we managed to converse on many important aspects of life such as fish biology, beer, the law, and women. All are equally important in my opinion.
The bite was a little slower than yesterday’s due to falling water levels, but we managed to post an impressive 60 fish day all on live bait and the D’Alton boys took home an impressive limit and a big bag of fresh fillets for their Easter weekend. Water temperatures were 61.7 on my guage, slowly creeping upward and getting ideal for the big spawn in the next week or two.
